2024 Riga A Cappella Festival's new programme New Choral Sounds will take place from 6 to 9 November in the Sport 2 quarter

2024. gadā Rīgas A Cappella festivāls norisināsies ar jaunu vadmotīvu New Choral Sounds (Jaunās kora skaņas).

No 6. līdz 9. novembrim festivāla programmās nozīmīga vieta tiks ierādīta unikāliem mūzikas projektiem un novatoriskiem mūzikas atskaņojumiem. Galvenie viesi būs Latvijas Radio koris un diriģents Sigvards Kļava, tiks pirmatskaņoti jauni skaņdarbi un jaunas programmas. Koncertu galvenā norises vieta būs Sporta 2 kvartāla Lielā zāle.

SPORTA 2 Quarter is a dynamic creative district that is constantly evolving and has become a beloved destination for enjoying art, culture, and a variety of events.

Since 2013, the Riga A Cappella Festival has been shaping a new identity for the vocal music movement, presenting the tradition of a cappella singing as a modern and contemporary art form. The festival has featured many renowned artists — The Real Group, The Swingles, Postyr, Solala, Gentlemen Singers, Didgori, Anima Solla, Framest, Latvian Voices, the Riga Gospel Choir, Harmony4Riga, and the choirs Kamēr…, Balsis, Austrums, Sola, among others. Alongside concerts, the festival hosts seminars, masterclasses, and industry meetings on current topics in vocal music, creating a platform for dialogue. The a cappella music highlighted in the festival is a wonder created by the human voice itself, and the energy it carries always leaves a powerful impression. A cappella singing is at the very heart of the Latvian Song Festival tradition, and since time immemorial has been one of the defining symbols of Latvian identity, continuing to inspire new creative explorations in contemporary music.
